Reservation FAQ

Check In: Our check in is between 4PM and 8PM. We do our best to accommodate our guest arrivals, please consider that we are not like a hotel and do not have 24 hour check in. Arrivals outside of 4PM and 8PM MUST be prearranged.

Early Arrivals: Early arrivals are possible with prior notice only. Please arrange this with the Innkeeper when you are making your reservations.

Late Arrivals: If you are running late due to traffic or bad weather please call our toll free number at 1-877-723-1888 or (613 531-9884) and alert the Innkeeper. Arrivals after our check-in times can be easily accommodated when pre-arranged.

Check Out: By 11 a.m. the day of departure.

Cancellation Policy: Your Credit Card Information is required to guarantee your reservation. Should it be necessary to cancel your reservation, we require notice by noon 3 days prior to your stay to avoid penalty (14 days for special events, graduation, Queen's Homecoming, and group bookings). If the reservation is cancelled inside of the applicable cancellation period, or you fail to show for your reservation, we will process your full reservation to your credit card. If we are able to re-rent the room(s), we will refund your credit card for the room nights we were able to re-rent.

Parking: Limited free on site parking. Maximum of one vehicle per guest suite.

Breakfast: Full gourmet style breakfast is provided for registered guests only. We regret that our licence does not permit us to serve to friends or family not staying at the Inn.

Pricing: Rates subject to change without notice. Seasonal variations may apply. Please call or visit our online booking system for up to date pricing information.

Rating: Inspected annually the Secret Garden Inn is proud to announce that we have been awarded a 4½ star rating through Canada Select.

Operating Season: Open year-round.

Free Wireless Internet: Secure wireless internet is available throughout the Inn as well as a complimentary guest computer in our main floor Library.

Smoking: A completely non-smoking property including veranda and balcony. Damage caused by a guest smoking on the premises will be charged back to that guest's credit card.

Candles: For fire safety reasons, candles are not permitted in the rooms. Any damage caused by candles will be charged back to the guest's credit card.

Non-Registered Guests: Common areas of the Inn including the veranda, library and parlour are for the exclusive use of registered guests.

Guest Services

On-Site Facilities: Veranda, dining room for breakfast, Victorian parlour with a selection of newspapers and magazines, library with a varied selection of books, a telephone for free local calls, and guest computer.

24-Hour-Assistance: The Innkeeper is available 24 hours a day in case of an emergency.

Keys: Guests receive a front door and a room key, permitting guests to come and go as they please. The house is quiet after 11 p.m.

Pets: No pets allowed.

Extra Beds/Cots: Rooms accommodate only two persons, with the exception of Turret room which can accommodate 3. Extra beds or cots are not available.

Children: The Inn is not suitable for children under 14 years of age.

Accessibility: The Inn is not wheel chair accessible.
